Geocache Description:

Since 2011 we’ve had a cache, “Fran & Keith” GC2MTYE, on this greenbelt/pathway. It was an altoids tin magnetically attached to a wooden fence post. This can be exasperating to searchers and was hidden by an overgrowth of vines … this can also be exasperating. Over the years we have made 12 “Owner Maintenance” visits after DNF reports and we did find that it was missing once … this can be exasperating but is also part of the fun of owning caches. I’m beginning to think that, even then, it was probably lurking down in the depths of the vines. During the winter of 2021, the fence was blown about half-way over and held up by the vines, but continued to hide the cache. The owners of the fence made no efforts to make repairs. The last find log, by xjables, generated our most recent maintenance visit. We were quite surprised to find a new fence, all the vines removed and the cache sitting on the ground under a bush … none of this was exasperating.

We still like the location and have placed this multi-cache near the original Fran & Keith location. At the north end of the pathway is a new sign with distance information for folks walking or biking around Davis. The sign is so new it did not appear on Google Streetview at the time this was published. Use the information on the signs to determine the coordinates of the final for this 2-stop multi-cache.

Final location: N38° 32.ABC W121° 42.DEF

A = Fifth letter of the first word saying where you are
B = Minutes to bike to EAST DAVIS
C = Minutes to walk halfway to MACE BLVD
D = First digit of distance to DOWNTOWN
E = Sum of the digits to walk to DOWNTOWN
F = Number of people shown walking.

Have a nice walk to the cache, although you could ride your bike.
