I recently saw a cache in my area that said it was placed "as there are no caches nearby", so I've decided to help my fellow Geocacher by adding some. The 3 Cornered Field
If you live in Swansea then you probably drive past this hidden gem frequently. It's surrounded on three sides by busy roads so I suggest you use the pedestrian crossing on the Vivian / Tycoch Road junction to cross the road. You'll need to walk at least a short distance from nearby residential streets where you can park.
The cache is placed with the permission of the Friends of the 3 Cornered Field. They formed from concerned locals to take some ownership of what was a quite neglected field at the time. Now it boasts some suprisingly good views towards Swansea Bay, an orchard and a host of new plants. It's popular with local dog walkers and a pleasant place in the Summer.
The field itself apparently had cows grazing in it until the 1960s, with a dairy across the road in what is now Broadway Court, but somehow the field itself survived redvelopment.
