Make sure to bring a high-powered flashlight (maybe two), wear your walking shoes, and be prepared for Halloween nighttime shenanigans! The flashlight is required to detect the firetacks. We can demonstrate how to follow them at the event.
EchelonKS and I will be set up at the picnic shelter with a (ban-buster) campfire. This will be the site of the event. We will also have three distinct courses set up using firetacks starting from near the picnic shelter. The courses will not be published geocaches; they will be set up just for the purpose of this event. You are welcome to stay and enjoy the fire; however, the bravest of the brave may choose to venture out into the darkness of the forest along the three paths in order to obtain proof of discovery. Should a cacher be brave enough to discover all three hidden treasures, they can present their proof to us for a prize.
The details:
- we will bring snacky foods like cupcakes or cookies. You are welcome to bring foods/prizes to contribute if you wish, but it is not required. Should you feel so inclined, feel free to state what you intend to bring in your Will Attend log.
- food quantities and prizes will be determined by the number of Will Attend logs. DO NOT USE ONE WILL ATTEND FOR A GROUP. EACH ACTIVE GEOCACHER MUST LOG THEIR OWN WILL ATTEND BEFORE OCTOBER 20TH IF THEY WANT TO RECEIVE A PRIZE. After that date, you are still welcome to come but we may not have food or prizes for you, as we need about a week to get everything ready.
