History/Song: This cache is named after the Duran Duran song "Girls on Film," with a slight adjustment to "Cachers on Film". I recently archived my very first cache ever placed (under Potter Trekies in 2010) called "Into the Mystic" (GC2EG0C). It feels kind of bittersweet to archive the first, but it had a nice run, and seems like the right time to bring a fresh one into play. This one pays homage to the original as its located nearby and it has a disposable camera inside. Back when the original was published, we were using GPS devices only, as the cell phone app of 2013 had not been introduced yet. Pictures were not taken and uploaded as easily or as often, so having a disposable camera in a cache was a fun way to add pics to the page, which we did. Please take a picture of yourself or the surroundings and I will post them on the cache page.
Cache: This is a nicely maintained, wide grassy path that is part of the Carterville Great Embankment Loop Trail System in Pittsford, which runs along side the canal. Parking coords are provided for a grassy pull off at the Trail head along Rte 96. Please be careful when pulling in and out as cars travel fast along this stretch. You are looking for an ammo container hidden just a little off the trail, wedged in some tree trunks. Please rehide with some geocover to protect from muggle eyes. Cache is starting off with a logbook, pencil, swag and a FTF wooden coin.
Camera: Please take a pic with the disposable camera or post one from your own. Let me know in your log when the disposable camera is filled up and I will retrieve it and post the pics.
