Geocache Description:

This cache is the second in the series highlighting the island's fire stations and some of the history behind them. The station nearby houses Engine Company #5, whose motto is "Never Late". The station serves the midtown area of the city and houses one engine, a rescue boat, and a wildfire engine. The current station opened in 2010 after being relocated from 56th St. and Ave. K, the previous station having been destroyed by Hurricane Ike's floodwaters in September 2008. Manned 24/7/365, please watch out for emergency vehicles coming and going. Plenty of parking in the lots behind the station. Parking can be scarce during the weekdays and lots of muggles are around. This is a microcache with room only for the log. Bring a pen and please replace everything as you find it. Be sure to check out the memorial to first responders nearby.

Congrats to sparkyiv FTF!
