Deze Amsterdam-’trail’ is een samenwerkingsverband tussen 15 Amsterdamse cachers die elk een eigen cache hebben geplaatst namens de Amsterdam Area Geocachers. Samen vormen deze caches de 3 Andreaskruizen uit het Wapen van Amsterdam.

General

This Amsterdam ‘trail’ is a cooperation between 15 cachers from Amsterdam who each have placed their own cache on behalf of the Amsterdam Area Geocachers. Combined these caches form the 3 Andreas crosses that can be found in the Coat of Arms of Amsterdam.

Je vindt deze kruizen overal in de stad. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de beroemde ‘Amsterdammertjes’, de bruine paaltjes die menig grachtenpand en voetganger beschermen tegen roekeloze automobilisten. Maar ook de gemeente Amsterdam heeft de kruizen uit het wapen omarmd en toegepast als haar logo.

The crosses can be found all over the city. Take the famous ‘Amsterdammertjes’ for example, the brown little poles that protect the canal houses and pedestrians from reckless car drivers. Furthermore the municipality of Amsterdam has embraced the crosses from the coat and used it as their logo.

De 15 caches die de kruizen vormen zijn alle vijftien traditionele caches. Ze verschillen qua vorm en grootte, maar zijn allemaal makkelijk te vinden. In de hint vind je een specifieke aanwijzing voor de cache die je nu voor je neus hebt. We wensen je heel veel plezier met de Amsterdam-trail. The 15 caches that form the crosses are all traditional caches. They differ from each other when looking at shape and size, but the are all easy to find. Over deze locatie

U staat hier bij een van de ingangen van het Beatrixpark. Het Beatrixpark is een klein park in het zuiden van Amsterdam. Het is aangelegd in 1938. De Vereniging Vrienden van het Beatrixpark is in 1981 door omwonenden opgericht om te voorkomen dat een deel van het park zou worden opgeofferd voor bebouwing. De vereniging heeft dit niet weten te voorkomen, maar wel is bereikt dat in 1994 ter compensatie een braakliggend gebied aan het park is toegevoegd: de Natte vallei.

In 2005 heeft het oude deel van het park de gemeentelijke monumentenstatus verworven. Op dit moment wordt het zuidelijke deel van het Beatrixpark heringericht. Het park maakt deel uit van het Amsterdamse Zuidas-gebied en zal bij het ondergronds brengen van de Ringweg doorgetrokken worden naar het zuidelijker gelegen "Sportpark Goed Genoeg" van voetbalclub AFC, ook komt er het Amaliapark bij. You are standing here at one of the entrances to the Beatrixpark. The Beatrixpark is a small park in the south of Amsterdam. It was constructed in 1938. The Friends of the Beatrix Park Association was founded in 1981 by local residents to prevent part of the park from being sacrificed for development. The association was unable to prevent this, but it did achieve that an undeveloped area was added to the park in 1994 as compensation: the Wet Valley.

In 2005, the old part of the park acquired municipal monument status. The southern part of the Beatrix Park is currently being redesigned. The park is part of the Amsterdam Zuidas area and, when the Ring Road is underground, it will be extended to the more southerly "Sportpark Goed Genoeg" of football club AFC, and the Amalia Park will also be added.
