Things I love about this movie.. Because I love it, as much as that meatball kid next door loves this street.
-
I can never look at brownies, full trash bins, frames for sale in stores, or pinocchio the same
-
Carol is a fortune teller, if you listen closely you will recognize it, but not until after you have seen the whole movie.
-
I get hungry when I watch one part of this movie.
-
The reaction when the contents of the trunk are revealed is priceless.
-
How long ago did the new neighbors move in and as nosey as everyone is, how did no one really notice it or even see them until this day.
-
Where did the old neighbors go?
-
Why would his wife nudge him to eat that?
-
Who does that? Are suburbanites really this way?
There’s so much more, read further for the movie hints.
The scene is set…
Quiet suburban neighborhood cul-de sac. Newspaper boy is delivering the paper. A neighbor stands outside in a robe drinking coffee watching an old man neighbor’s dog pooping in another neighbor's lawn.
A Week vacation and family arguments on how it should be spent, but this is just the beginning. Maybe he should have just gone to the lake.
The neighbors freely visit one another.
One comes over, eats food right from the fridge & talks about how weird the new neighbors next door are & the house and yard are going to shambles.
Spotted them digging holes in the backyard. This fuels suspicions of weirdness.
Soon a new neighbor is spotted but no one has the nerve to greet them.
Then there’s a knock on the door.
The porch falls in.
Another night of odd noises and lights from the basement.
The spying crew hides behind trash cans and watches the neighbor take the trash out.
They’ve never seen this before, they’ve never seen someone drive their trash to the curb and beat the hell out of it with a stick.
Meanwhile another neighbor, a teenager watches all of this for entertainment.
Old man’s dog is loose & house is broken into to check on him, old man is missing.
Later a bone is dug up from beneath the fence and it’s assumed to be the old man.
Suspicion of murder develops.
Wives can’t take it. Insist on a group visit to the house.
Armed with brownies, the porch collapses yet again and there go the GD brownies.
They still offer the brownies with leaves and all, the new neighbors offer an unusual snack.
Small talk. Uncomfortable greetings. Tension is high. Snooping around the house.
Quick departure.
A planned breakin, jump over the fence, a watching group from down the street, a call to the pizza dude.
Someone needs the police, fire department and an ambulance.
So who are the lunatics? Is it the new neighbors or those who have lived there for quite some time? You’ll have to watch the movie to find out.
Do NOT mess with suburbanites.
A few of my favorite lines:
- Ray your chanting.
- No thank you I'm trying to cut back.
- Ray, this is Walter. Nooooooo!
- One day he had one to many Lemon Phosphates.
- A soldiers way saves the day.
- That kid next door is a meetball.
- You wanna not steal that from Walter's house?
- I'm gonna go do something productive. I'm gonna go watch television.
- Nobody knocks off an old man in my neighborhood and gets away with it.
- I've been blown up, take me to the hospital!
- God I love this street.
What is your favorite? Add it to your log if you have one.
Now that you know a lot about the movie, what do you do to find the cache & the key word?
Look over the virtual and physical stages - need more help, keep reading:
- Drive through a quiet neighborhood 🚙
- Check out the new neighbors at least see their house and yard or in shambles. No one has actually seen the neighbors. 🏚️
- First physical stage is a clue that something is up about these neighbors 🦴
- Find a snack offered when paying them a visit finally (this is where you'll find your key word in red on the entertainer no log book here) 🥨&??
- Spectators order 🍕 pizza. You can see a place to do that here but it's still not over- so no log book.
- you've gotten yourself into a big mess here maybe you need to go to the hospital 🚑 (here you will finally find a log 📖 book)
