This cache is placed at a beautiful example of a quercus agrifolia, or California (or coast) live oak. There are many of them in Almaden Quicksilver and the surrounding area. You can identify a quercus agrifolia by its many-branched trunks, large size (up to 25 meters!) and its evergreen, dark, smooth leaves.
You're looking for a medium-sized hanging container just inside the canopy of the tree. It's a few steps off the Virl O. Norton Trail, just a few hundred feet from the Mockingbird Hill parking lot. There's some poison oak in the area, but it's easily avoidable.
Almaden Quicksilver hours are 8:00am to sunset. Dogs on leash are welcome. Happy hunting!
