The Women and Children's Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University (Huangpu Campus), 广州医科大学附属妇女儿童医院(黄埔院区), was a forested hillside in January 2019. Construction mainly took place during 2020 and 2021 and by 2023 the large hospital is fully functional but, like many of the other new hospitals in Huangpu, not yet very much used.
The hospital is perfectly situated relative to the bikeway and ecological belt and the cache is located where a direct ramp down to the Nangang Sports Park provides direct access to the sports park and riverside pathways. Since there are not many residences around, perhaps a significant portion of the children enjoying the sports park facilities are from the hospital nearby? If so, it's a stroke of genius having such a facility near the hospital. It's also conveniently close to a tram station.
