Eco Playground
A natural playground was opened in September 2021, becoming a new attraction in the Mokotów district. The project was implemented by the Greenery Management of the City of Warsaw as part of the " Participatory budgeting" initiative. A total of 11,000 Warsaw residents voted for this project, leading to the creation of an educational and recreational space.
What sets this playground apart from others is the exclusive use of natural materials. Plastic toys are nowhere to be found here. Everything is crafted in harmony with the relationship between humans and nature.
The playground is divided into two zones:
1. "In the Old Garden" Zone - designed for children aged 3-6. The plantings and wooden elements evoke the landscape of the Służew village. Here, you'll find wicker huts, tree stumps, a cottage resembling rural wooden architecture, fruit trees, perennial flower beds, and shrubs.
2. Fitness Zone - an area dedicated to physical activity, where children over 6 (and not only children!) can enjoy slides, swings, bridges, and more. This zone is located in a treeless area to ensure the safety of the youngest visitors.
The project focuses on introducing children to nature, enriching the existing greenery with new plantings of native species. An educational element is also present – along the educational path between the zones, informative signs about the surrounding nature can be found.
