Geocache Description:

TWEEZERS AND A LOG ROLLER ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THIS CACHE

The Walter J Tuck Reserve is the home of the Mirboo North Tigers football team which has seven premierships in the Mid Gippsland Football League throughout its history, the club was formed around about 1900 and joined the league in 1955 and made an immediate impression by winning back to back premierships in 1956 and 1957. A long drought occurred after the quick success which would not see the Tigers win another premiership until exactly fifty years later in 2006, they once again went back to back and won again in 2007. They did not have to wait long again for future success, amazingly, going back to back for a third time in 2013 and 2014, beating Newborough in two extremely close grand finals. For their most recent premiership, the Tigers had an amazing run in 2017, making the finals with a win in the last round of the season and winning four finals in a row to win an expected and special premiership.

The Mirboo North golf course is a picturesque 18-hole golf course that is regarded as one of the best in the South Gippsland region.
