The cache IS at the given location. However, you must meet the criteria (50 cache finds on Guam with each having more than one (1) attribute) to log it as a find. The difficulty rating is for the challenge, not the hide.
When I started caching, I paid little attention to attributes. As I progressed, I realized that it was important to look at everything about the cache and the area where it was located for a multitude of reasons . . . safety, having appropriate TOTTs along, etc. I began to pay better attention to the attributes the cache owner had identified. If you’re not familiar with all the attributes in geocaching, they are listed below.
Knowing if: Equipment was Required or Not Required (Access/parking fee, Climbing gear required, Boat required, Scuba gear required, Flashlight required, UV light required, May require snowshoes, May require cross country skis, Special tool required, Wireless beacon, Tree climbing required)
Knowing if: Permissions are Allowed or Not Allowed (Dogs, Bicycles, Motorcycles, Quads, Off-road vehicle, Snowmobile, Horses, Campfires, Trucks/RVs)
Knowing if: Conditions (Yes/No) (Recommended for kids, Takes less than one hour, Scenic View, Significant hike, Difficult climb, May require wading, May Require Swimming, Available 24/7, Recommended at night, Available in winter, Stealth required, Owner attention requested, Livestock nearby, Field puzzle. Night cache, Park and grab, Abandoned structure, Short hike (<1 km), Medium hike (1 km – 10 km), Long hike, (>10 km), Seasonal access, Recommended for tourists, Yard (private residence), Teamwork cache, Challenge cache, Power trail, Bonus Cache)
Knowing if: Hazards (Present/Not Present) (Poisonous plants, Dangerous animals, Ticks, Abandoned mine, Cliffs/falling rocks, Hunting area, Dangerous area, Thorns)
Knowing if: Facilities (Yes/No) (Wheelchair accessible, Parking nearby, Public transportation nearby, Drinking water nearby, Public restrooms nearby, Telephone nearby, Picnic tables nearby, Camping nearby, Stroller accessible, Fuel nearby, Food nearby)
Knowing if: Specials (Yes/No) (Lost and Found tour, Partnership cache, GeoTour, Geocaching.com solution checker)
Any cache type found anytime counts. Whether you qualified years ago . . . or still have some work to do, I hope this challenge encourages us all to check the attributes before we head out.
