Geocache Description:

Easy find in a nice scenic rest stop.

The rest area on Hwy. 385 between Ft. Stockton and Marathon is in the heart of one of the prettiest places that public roads can take you in West Texas desert. This area rises up to host lots of red cedars and rich grasses that enjoy the slightly cooler and wetter micro-climate. And if you're traveling late after dark, be careful to avoid all the deer and rabbits all over the place. This rest area is dedicated to Roland Warnock, a TX Hwy. foreman for 34 years between 1927-1961. He helped create a lot of the highways we have come later to enjoy. You'll also find that this family name has definitely made a place in West Texas as you visit the area. Check out Big Bend Ranch State Park for more evidence of that.

The cache is a half gallon plastic container with a screw on lid filled a handful of toys and gadgets.

Happy Travels!
