[RO] Centrala hidroelectrică şi Muzeul Energetic Sadu I
Centrala hidroelectrică de mică putere Sadu I (Uzina electrică din Sibiu), situată pe valea râului Sadu la 18 km de Sibiu, este cea mai veche centrală în funcţiune din România. Ea a fost proiectată de Oscar von Miller (inginerul fondator al Deutsches Muzeum - München) şi a fost pornită în data de 16 decembrie 1896.
Centrala era echipată iniţial cu 3 turbine şi două maşini cu aburi. Acestea erau cuplate direct la generatoarele monofazate şi produceau 200 KW la 42 Hz si 4500 V. Turbinele Girard s-au dovedit însă a fi prea mici, astfel că în anii 1902 şi 1905 au fost înlocuite succesiv cu turbine Francis de 350 CP si generatoare monofazate produse de firma GANZ&CO din Budapesta. În anii 1925 şi 1926 generatoarele grupurilor 1 şi 2 au fost rebobinate pentru curent alternativ trifazat. Cele trei grupuri hidroenergetice menţionate mai sus există şi in prezent, fiind încă în exploatare.
Curentul electric produs la hidrocentrala Sadu I a asigurat electrificarea comunei Sadu si a oraselor Cisnădie şi Sibiu.
Muzeul energetic Sadu I, inaugurat in 1996, este primul muzeu de acest profil din ţară.
Cu toate echipamentele aflate în stare de funţionare, centrala insăşi reprezintă exponatul cel mai de preţ al acestui muzeu. La etajul superior, deasupra sălii maşinilor, în fostele camere destinate personalului de exploatare, au fost amenajate 3 săli în care sunt expuse echipamente, scule, materiale şi documente care ilustrează etape din dezvoltarea energeticii din sudul Ardealului.
[EN] The Sadu I Hydroelectric Plant and The Energy Museum
The low-power Sadu I hydroelectric plant (Hermannstadter Elektrizitatswerk Aktiengesellschaf), located in the Sadu river valley 18 km from Sibiu, is the oldest plant in operation in Romania. It was designed by Oscar von Miller (German engineer and founder of the Deutsches Museum - München) and started on December 16, 1896.
The plant was initially equipped with 3 turbines and two steam engines. These were connected directly to the single-phase generators and produced 200 KW at 42 Hz and 4500 V. However, the Girard turbines proved to be too small, so in 1902 and 1905 they were successively replaced by 350 HP Francis turbines and single-phase generators produced by GANZ&CO from Budapest. In 1925 and 1926, the generators of groups 1 and 2 were rewound for three-phase alternating current. The three hydropower groups mentioned above still exist today, being still in operation.
The electric current produced at Sadu I ensured the electrification of Sadu commune and Cisnadie and Sibiu.
The Sadu I energy museum,inaugurated in 1996, is the first museum of this type in the country.
With all the equipment in working condition, the power plant itself is the most expensive exhibit of this museum. On the upper floor, above the machine room, in the former rooms intended for the operating personnel, 3 rooms were set up in which equipment, tools, materials and documents are exhibited that illustrate stages in the development of energy in southern Transylvania.
