Geocache Description:


Number 1790 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.


The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.


The phone box WAS still in use when I placed this, but no longer - however, the kiosk IS protected for future generations, so we shall continue for now. Both facilities are located in Stamford Hill, home to the greatest concentration of Hasidic Jews in Europe, and if you look around you will see many local shops catering to the needs of this community.

If you have time, I recommend visiting nearby Clapton Common - mind the geese - and having a go at GC7ZYX0 Church Micro 12238 Upper Clapton - or, at the very least, reading the description for its fascinating history.

You'll need to look on both the postbox and the phone box to gather some numbers:
The postbox number is E5 AB
The phone box is outside CDE - it seems that the notice that was inside the phone box that stated this information has gone :-( so I have amended the formula to remove references to C, D and E
The reference you need to quote if you have any questions about payphone services not being provided from the kiosk is K20 FFGH JKLM

The cache is a short walk away at
