What: A geocaching movie night!
Where: The Community Service Center, West Entrance
When: Sunday, November 12: From 2:00pm to 4:00pm
We're celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Geocaching International Festival (GIFF)!
Come and enjoy some geocaching short films, snacks, and friends!
We will be providing popcorn, seasonings, soda pop, and bowls/plates/cups/utensils. If anyone wants to bring any other snacks to share,
that is always welcome. The event will start at 2pm, we hope to have the film showing by 2:30pm, and it probably is a
little over an hour long total.
The event will be held in the basement of the Community Center,
where the sign says Youth Center Entrance, on the West side. There is a short flight of steps to get into the room, so if you need any
assistance please say so in your will attend log.
Groundspeak held the first geocaching film contest in 2013, where people from all over the world could submit a geocaching related film short
(they are up to 4 minutes long). There has been two breaks: in 2020 due to covid, and in 2023 because of the Geocaching celebration that year.
Groundspeak sorts through the films each year and picks the best ones (a little over 15 films) as winners.
The films are then shown at GIFF events all over the world in November. Most of the films also eventually end up on youtube.
This will be a fun evening, and we hope to see everyone there.
