Geocache Description:

This cache is placed for the Haunt in Halmich XII event. All event attendees who chose to find this cache the night of the event are eligible to claim FTF status. In addition, this cache is placed in Halmich Park, a City of Warren Park; caching hours are 7am-10pm.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

A letterbox hybrid cache is based off of letterboxing, which predates geocaching by 150 years. In order to find most letterbox caches, you are required to start at the posted coordinates and follow along the story in the cache description which will lead you to the final container with a logbook and a stamp for you to stamp your personal notebook (again, another adaptation from letterboxing). We decided to mix things up this Haunt in Halmich with several of these letterboxes. Hope you have fun!

All nine letterboxes in Halmich Park revolve around a boy named Josh and his adventures dealing with the ghouls of Haunted Halmich Park. All the letterboxes are numbered in the title based on their location in the park - it is highly recommended to follow them in order (you don't have to start at number one) to make an efficient trip around the park.

Using your GPS, find your way to the posted coordinates to start the letterbox.

Josh, finished with watching Arthur Ashe, made his way to the north side of the tennis courts where he came across some pine trees that provided some cover. Not long after he heard some more familiar sounds, this time from the little ghouls playing some soccer! He walked north along the bank of trees on top of the small hill on the side of the road (trying to not be noticed) when he eventually came across some metal witchcraft protruding from the ground. Trying to figure out what the heck it was and if it would help him, he heard what sounded like a car crash on the road on the soccer fields. Josh, running what feels like a half marathon across the soccer fields, just to find no evidence of any vehicles, let alone a crash. Dismayed he couldn't help anyone out, he noticed what could be an opening to an underground tunnel sticking up from the ground near the side of the road and headed that way. Unfortunately he was unable to get down there, but the turtles and their pizza wouldn't have been happy with Josh's presence. Josh continued north on the sidewalk past two signs that encouraged him not to stop until he finally saw a lonesome tree all by itself, which is where you'll find this treasure.
