Geocache Description:

This cache is placed for the Haunt in Halmich XII event. All event attendees who chose to find this cache the night of the event are eligible to claim FTF status. In addition, this cache is placed in Halmich Park, a City of Warren Park; caching hours are 7am-10pm.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

A letterbox hybrid cache is based off of letterboxing, which predates geocaching by 150 years. In order to find most letterbox caches, you are required to start at the posted coordinates and follow along the story in the cache description which will lead you to the final container with a logbook and a stamp for you to stamp your personal notebook (again, another adaptation from letterboxing). We decided to mix things up this Haunt in Halmich with several of these letterboxes. Hope you have fun!

All nine letterboxes in Halmich Park revolve around a boy named Josh and his adventures dealing with the ghouls of Haunted Halmich Park. All the letterboxes are numbered in the title based on their location in the park - it is highly recommended to follow them in order (you don't have to start at number one) to make an efficient trip around the park.

Using your GPS, find your way to the posted coordinates to start the letterbox.

Josh finds himself at a pine tree, but luckily there's no cache in it. He hears some monkeys playing nearby on a dome, so he wanders over there to check out what was going on. He notices that this is also the site of playgrounds past and while reminiscing on the last time he played on a playground, it starts hailing cats and dogs! Josh runs underneath the nearest cover, which happens to be a big house with a green roof. Once the hail stops, he decides to head towards the other playground when he is stopped by the turf monster that tells him to return to the big house. After returning, Josh notices a gnarly-looking tree while looking towards a different type of home. He looks at this tree and is unable to find anything, but the tree directly next to it held the cache.
