Geocache Description:

This cache is placed for the Haunt in Halmich XII event. All event attendees who chose to find this cache the night of the event are eligible to claim FTF status. In addition, this cache is placed in Halmich Park, a City of Warren Park; caching hours are 7am-10pm.

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

A letterbox hybrid cache is based off of letterboxing, which predates geocaching by 150 years. In order to find most letterbox caches, you are required to start at the posted coordinates and follow along the story in the cache description which will lead you to the final container with a logbook and a stamp for you to stamp your personal notebook (again, another adaptation from letterboxing). We decided to mix things up this Haunt in Halmich with several of these letterboxes. Hope you have fun!

All nine letterboxes in Halmich Park revolve around a boy named Josh and his adventures dealing with the ghouls of Haunted Halmich Park. All the letterboxes are numbered in the title based on their location in the park - it is highly recommended to follow them in order (you don't have to start at number one) to make an efficient trip around the park.

Using your GPS, find your way to the posted coordinates to start the letterbox.

All these years, Josh never knew why Haunt in Halmich was named Haunt in Halmich. It is actually because on this very road, 13 Mile Rd., people have reported hitting something with their vehicle, getting out, and not seeing anything. Josh was trying to wrap his mind around this when, all of a sudden, he heard some little ghouls saying "bump, set, spike" in the distance. While heading over there, Josh almost tripped three times and he realized that maybe these folks who think they hit something in their vechiles were just going over these humongous bumps. When Josh got closer to the ghouls, they all darted north past the playground and through the pavilion, and vanished into thin air. However, Josh was able to notice one of the ghouls throw something up into the air when they were under the pavilion. Josh wandered over there to see what they threw up there, but didn't know where to start. He plugged in his phone in the most southeastern electrical outlet and started his search along that ceiling joist and found what was thrown up by the ghouls inside a V.
