Placed with permission from the Redbank Valley Trails Assn (RVTA). Trail hours are dawn to dusk. The trail surface has been improved and is great for hiking or biking. See below for parking coords. This replaces a cache I had here a few years ago. The cache is only about 10' off the trail on the creek side. Pretty view of Redbank Creek here. There are food and fuel about 3 miles from here in Widnoon. There are a picnic shelter and port-a-potty at the parking coords.
Joe-Pye Weed has a dome-shaped cluster of flower heads which sport pink blooms in mid-late Summer. They grow 2-10' tall, with about 4-6' being the most common height. This plant is very commonly seen along roads and woods or in fields in moist areas. If crushed, the stem has a vanilla odor.
