Take the Brown Road exit from Hwy 395
Just before you reach the gravel pit, turn left, and drive around the south side of the plant, and continue up into Sand Canyon. This is a rough road, but a car can make it if the driver is careful.
When (if) you get close, park at the benches under the old cottonwood tree, and find the swimming(?) hole. Walk carefully across the dam, (no fishing!) and you are on your way.
The cache is under a long, narrow, flat rock in a sub-terrainium cave. There is a flat, round rock set into the dirt in front of the cache, and a slab of imported granite guarding the cave entrance.
Update 08-12-2007
The old cottonwood tree is toast, (but trying to make a comeback) either by arson or lightning. The picknick area is almost completely destroyed, and quite a bit of the flora is scorched. The good news is that the LL's that had been living there appear to be gone, but all the trash remains. I'll try and get back to do a clean up.
Cache has been replaced and has lots of new stuff!
