An easy cache in a historical mining area of Colorado. Park in the Rosita Plaza parking lot (N 38 05.826, W 105 20.247). The cache is located a couple of hundred yards from the picnic area for the ghost town of Rosita, currently populated by seasonal and full-time residents. The terrain is grassy and fairly level at an altitude of 8829 feet.
The cache is a plastic tupperware type containing some small animal creatures (howling dog, ladybug, lemur, salamander, shark, Piglet, and a fancy kitty kat). Add an animal, real or fictitious. Note some of the historical features of the area, especially the Historical marker for Rosita and the remnants of the Pocahontas Mine to the north.
After 2 reports of "unable to find," in May and June, I have checked out the cache and found it to be intact. Most of the "animal" cache items are gone so it's not really an "animal" cache any more, but other items are there for trading. Good Hunting!
