Coney Island east entrance is connected to the Serangoon East Dam. The dam, which faces Pulau Ubin on one side, is a nice quiet place to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the sunset in the evenings. Afternoons are scorching hot as there are no trees to provide shelter. Apart from cyclists and runners passing through Coney Island, not many visitors will enter from the east as its inaccessible by public transport. With the recently completed park connector from the Lor Halus Red Bridge, perhaps more people will come this way.
The cache is located OUTSIDE coney island so it available 24/7 via Serangoon East Dam. However, should you decide to get to the cache from the west entrance, the island operating hours are 7am to 7pm.
There is ongoing construction at Serangoon East Dam. It's a remote location, so do be careful if you venture here after sundown. It's common to see wild dogs or maybe even a tapir here at night.
