Geocache Description:

Another Shelby Farms cache! You will be accompanied by many souls who have been here for years.
Stories tell of many more folks here. But, you are alone here today. Legend has it that the other markers are in the Wolf River, placed there as a cover-up by those who didn’t want show their non-reverence. This was a farm to a family by the name of Mann and it is thought that this may have been a family site. Stories also tell of section being name ‘Cole’. Please, respect the area, even though it is an absolute shame and travesty that the area has fallen into such condition.Looks like this area is part of the Walnut Grove Road relocation plan. For more info, check out more info here,www.shelbyfarm.com Check out the lost souls link AFTER you have visited the cache.
No major bushwhacking required. You can park at gate 13 and work your way back toward the left thru the trail. By the way, the cache itself is 21 degress south of the subject matter,in a cedar tree. The container is a long tube, with a 3” neck.
Initial contents contain:
Gloves
safety glasses (for bushwhacking)
Peabody cork screw
data organizer
multi-tool
Cylume lite stick
key ring
mini flashlight
Also I have left a Wiffle ball that I took from a Cleveland City (sponsored) cache. It is an‘unofficial’ travel bug and would like to get out of Memphis and see more of the world.
Good luck and have fun BUT please be respectful of where you are. When you see the sunken hole, think what it is because it is/was
