Geocache Description:

In this Multi-Stage Cache you will visit six locations in the
Peoria Area. All are located within 5 miles of the initial Cache
site. All Caches are Virtual with the exception of the final
Cache. Clues in the first five Caches will be used to complete
the following decoder table.

Decoder Table

A = __
B = __
C = __
D = __
E = __

*** Cache Site 1:

N 40°43.517'
W089°33.293'

In April 2000, an accident occured. Letter A of the Decoder
table is the second digit of the day of the accident.

*** Cache Site 2:

N 40°A3.A59'  -->  N   4 0 ° _ 3 . _ 5 9 '
W089°32.980'  -->  W 0 8 9 ° 3 2 . 9 8 0 '

Find a phone number in Norway, but do not dig too deep while
searching. Letter B of the Decoder table will be the fifth
digit of the number you find. Be sure to be on the lookout
for Gargoyles as you travel near this Cache. Many have been
seen in the area.

*** Cache Site 3:

N 40°AB.125'  -->  N   4 0 ° _ _ . 1 2 5 '
W089°BA.108'  -->  W 0 8 9 ° _ _ . 1 0 8 '

This will be difficult to locate. Please show respect and do
not bushwack; roads will take you where you need to go. Find
the Eternal Tree owned by John. Carved on the trunk are many
dates. Letter C of the Decoder table is the last digit of the
earliest year that can be found minus 5.

*** Cache Site 4:

N 40°AB.588'  -->  N   4 0 ° _ _ . 5 8 8 '
W089°BB.208'  -->  W 0 8 9 ° _ _ . 2 0 8 '

This was erected by the people of Averyville in September 1919.
Letter D of the Decoder table is the day divided by 2.

Update: Jul 17, 2013. The Battered World War 1 Memorial at this location has been "torn apart and sent to England". Unless you want to take a long trip, reference the picture below. To see the full story, click this link: Monument's Strange Trip

*** Cache Site 5:

N 40°AA.821'  -->  N   4 0 ° _ _ . 8 2 1 '
W089°BA.116'  -->  W 0 8 9 ° _ _ . 1 1 6 '

The Indian name for this place was Fat Lake. Letter E of the
Decoder table is the sum of the first and third digits of the year
Marquette & Jolliet passed through this area.

*** Final Cache Site:

N 40°A7.AAC'  -->  N   4 0 ° _ 7 . _ _ _ '
W089°BD.BE7'  -->  W 0 8 9 ° _ _ . _ _ 7 '

Finally! Put on your hiking boots and enjoy some time in nature.
The Cache is not hidden under a tree, in a stream, or down a steep
hill. If you begin looking in these areas, stop and look in plain
sight (almost). The Cache is a standard ammo box.
