This cache is a tribute to the South Australian geocacher known as “TheDame” 👓

TheDame chose her name given her fondness for Dame Edna Everage (and Barry Humphries). You can find this cache located on the outskirts of Tailem Bend on the roadside verge - it is not in private property.
A little about "TheDame":
TheDame trained as a primary school teacher and went on to become a Junior Primary Demonstration Teacher. She absolutely loved teaching and working alongside the curious and excited 5 and 6 year olds as their formal learning journey (school) began.

Years later, TheDame went back to university and transitioned into social work in community settings.
She's always had a love of theatre including musicals, dramas and comedies; and she has admired and enjoyed most of the work of Barry Humphries across decades. TheDame, has been called up onto the stage by Dame Edna Everage on about 6 occasions across the years (her preference was to seek out front row tickets if she could). This has led to a number of funny moments!
TheDame and Geocaching:
TheDame has enjoyed the social interaction of geocaching including short caching trips away, and particularly likes undertaking Adventure Labs as she has learnt a lot about new locations that way. Although TheDame enjoys her privacy and time to herself, she is also very warm, kind and generous … oh, and she has a wonderful sense of humour!! I have certainly enjoyed spending time caching with TheDame.
