Welcome to our winter series for 2023-24 in which this year we decided to feature the Detroit Lions seeing that they are doing so good for the first time in a long time. Be sure to collect all the codes along the way as you will need them to help find the geocache location. The geocaches are guaranteed to be available through Easter Sunday March 31.
Calvin Johnson Jr., (born September 29, 1985) is an American former football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons with the Detroit Lions. Nicknamed "Megatron" after the Transformers character of the same name, he is regarded as one of the greatest wide receivers of all time.
While still regarded as being in his prime, Johnson retired after the 2015 season, citing a loss of passion for the game due to health concerns and the Lions' lack of overall success during his tenure. He was inducted to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
Follow these directions to find the cache:
- Start at the posted coordinates, and head toward Detroit (east).
- It's game time, but you must keep moving past that store.
- Is that a restaurant named after current Lion's center ________ Ragnow? Keep moving.
- You've now gone further than a football field. Give yourself 5 stars!
- NFL games are often on Sundays, a day known for Church. Turn on that street toward several of them.
- No time for playbooks. Keep moving.
- Finally, the end zone. A nice little grassy park with some benches for you to rest.
- If you stand in the wooden 8-sided structure and look north you'll see three evergreens. The cache is located in the tree on the left.
