Tal-Wej Area between Mosta and Naxxar is an area of ecological and historical importance. Ecologically, it is a conservation area a Garigue habitat full of Maltese country side features and a temporary fresh water pool during winter. This means that in winter one can observe many fresh water animals like tadpoles, frogs, dragonfly and tripods. The area is also home to other animals including hares and hedgehogs. From a historical perspective. the area features the iconinc cart ruts and punic-era tombs.
For the residents who live close by however the area is very important as it is one of the last natural open areas where locals like to take short walks to escape the busy towns close by.
When looking for the cache please do not touch the rubblewalls, its not there, although close by!
