Across the street you will see the Sylvan Beach Union Chapel, a location that is on the Historical buildings registry This plain, unassuming little white chapel might not look like much and not many people know its history, it isn't on any plaque outside or in a brochure you pick up at a kiosk so not many people know that parts of the movie A Sterile Cuckoo was filmed in Sylvan Beach and inside this very chapel. The Stars stayed in summer cabins that were located close to the filming locations but as far as my research as found those cabins are no longer in existance. Other parts were filmed in Hamilton and Vernon Center. While Liza Minnelli was nominated for awards for her role, she did not win sadly. If you haven't watched the movie please do and see if you recognize any other features of the area.
