There was once a group of valuable ruins in this area.
In Ota Ward, large shell middens have been discovered in Omori, Magome, Yukidani, Numabe, and Chidorikubo (Omori Daiichi Junior High School in Kugahara).
Among them, the Chidorikubo Shell Midden is located at the back of a cove with a staggered shape, and is thought to have been a good docking place for simple rafts or dugout boats in primitive times. Therefore, it is thought that there were quite a number of villages during the Jomon period (middle to late Jomon period). More than 10 human bones were unearthed from this shell mound, as well as stone axes, stone swords, clay figurines, and rock figurines. These are still preserved at the University of Tokyo, Kokugakuin University, and the former Seven Junior High Schools.
Many traces of Yayoi-style pit dwellings from this era have been discovered on the Kugahara Plateau since 1929. There are two branch valleys on the Kugahara Plateau that have been eroded from east to west.At the back of the branch valley on the east side is the Kugahara Shell Mound (near Kugahara Elementary School), and at the back of the branch valley on the west side is the Chidorikubo Shell Mound. , the Yayoi style housing welfare group overlaps with these
