Mănăstirea Galata din Iași este o mănăstire de maici, ctitorită la sfârșitul secolului al XVI-lea de către domnitorul Petru Șchiopul în partea de vest a orașului. Ea se află pe un platou de pe dealul Galata ce domina valea râului Nicolina, la sud de Iasi, putând fi observată cu ușurință din diferite locații ale Iașului. În ceea ce priveste numele, unii istorici cred ca acesta vine de la numele cartierului Galata din Constantinopol (azi Istanbul).
Biserica, înconjurată de ziduri prevăzute cu creneluri și având un turn clopotniță înalt la intrare, are aspectul unei fortărețe, servind adesea ca loc de apărare și uneori ca reședință domnească. Ea este un exemplu al influenței muntene asupra arhitecturii moldovenești. Din apropierea bisericii, de pe Dealul Galata, se deschide o frumoasă perspectivă asupra orașului.
Ansamblul Mănăstirii Galata a fost inclus pe Lista monumentelor istorice din județul Iași din anul 2015 și fiind alcătuit din următoarele 4 obiective:
- Biserica "Înălțarea Domnului" - datând din perioada 1582-1583
- Palatul Domnesc - datând din perioada 1726-1728
- Turnul clopotniță - datând din anul 1584
- Zidul de incintă - datând din anul 1584
Aici a mai existat un cache aparut pe timpul evenimentului IaSi cauta comori acum mai bine de 10 ani.
Actualul cache se afla in apropiere de intrarea in cimitir,in zona fiind si un punct de belvedere asupra unei parti a orasului.

The Galata Monastery in Iasi is a nunnery, founded at the end of the 16th century by ruler Petru Șchiopul in the western part of the city. It is located on a plateau on the Galata hill that dominates the valley of the Nicolina river, south of Iasi, and can be easily observed from different locations of Iași.
As for the name, some historians believe that it comes from the name of the Galata neighborhood in Constantinople (now Istanbul).
The church, surrounded by crenellated walls and having a tall bell tower at the entrance, has the appearance of a fortress, often serving as a place of defense and sometimes as a royal residence. It is an example of the mountain influence on Moldovan architecture.From near the church, on Galata Hill, there is a beautiful view of the city.
The Galata Monastery complex was included on the List of Historical Monuments in Iași County in 2015 and is made up of the following 4 objectives: "Ascension of the Lord" Church - dating from the period 1582-1583
The Royal Palace - dating from the period 1726-1728
The bell tower - dating from 1584
The enclosure wall - dating from 1584
Here there was also a cache that appeared during the IaSi treasure hunt event more than 10 years ago.
The current cache is located near the entrance to the cemetery, in the area there is also a viewpoint over part of the city.
