Geocache Description:

As a regular traveller of the U.K. motorways, I noticed recently that the cache here had been archived so I took it upon myself to replace it,

This site was formerly opened in 1969 as Scratchwood Services. It is between Junctions 2 & 4 and stands on the site of the aborted Junction 3 which was supposed to link the M1 with the A1.

The cache should be easily located. There is a log and a couple of tradeable items in the box, but no pen, feel free to add any, and if you take please replace it with something else. I will add things every time I pass.

Please make sure everything is sealed up properly and the box is recovered and out of site.

Please note the services are accessible from both Northbound and Southbound carriageways. The services themselves are not in the Low Emission Zone, but if you come in from London or travel South when you exit make sure your vehicle is ULEZ compatible.

I take no responsibility for any unpaid fines that may be incurred.
