1. While Wisconsin is widley known as the dairy state, the first generations of farmers considered wheat as their main crop. Only after the Cival War did most take up dairy farming. 
2. Dairy farming generates $43.4 billion annually for Wisconsin's economy, yet only about 12% of the workforce is aligned to agriculture. 
3. Wisconsin is the second largest milk-producing state, at 31.9 billion pounds or 2.8 billion gallons annually!
