Discomusiken utvecklades under 70-talet i USA och har sitt egentliga ursprung i afroamerikanska kretsar. Under senare halvan av 70-talet nådde discomusiken sin riktiga kulm och hela världen dansade discodans till sköna 70-tals rytmer.
Bandet the Sweet släppte "The ballroom blitz" under den tidigare halvan av 70-talet. (exakt årtal) Låten handlar om om en vild natt i en balsal med en närapå kaotisk stämning men låten vill också påminna lyssnarna om att njuta av stunden men att vara medvetna om faror i omgivningen.

Disco music was developed in the 70s in the United States and has its origins in African-American circles. During the latter half of the 70's, disco music reached its real peak and the whole world danced disco dance to beautiful 70's rhythms.
The band the Sweet released "The Ballroom Blitz" in the early 70's. (exact year) The song is about a wild night in a ballroom with an almost chaotic atmosphere, but the song also wants to remind listeners to enjoy the moment but to be aware of the dangers in the environment.
