Smješten na jugoistočnim obroncima Zagrebačke gore, sjeveroistočno od Maksimirske šume i nedaleko tramvajskog okretišta u Dubravi, Spomen-park Dotrščina danas karakterizira tišina koju remeti tek cvrkut ptica. Idilična je to slika jedne od zagrebačkih najmasovnijih grobnica tj. jednoga od najvećih stratišta Drugoga svjetskoga rata u Hrvatskoj. Znatiželjnom namjerniku tek će spomenici i skulpture razbacani po šumi u tek prividnom neredu dati neke osnovne informacije o tome zašto su podignuti i po čemu je ovaj park drugačiji od svih ostalih zagrebačkih parkova.
Ime je dobio po malom potočiću Dotrščini (Doktorščini) koji se spušta s Medvednice i istoimenim brežuljcima koji su nekad bili kaptolsko dobro pod hrastovom šumom. Šuma je posječena za vrijeme Drugoga svjetskoga rata. Poslije je izrasla mlada, pretežno grabova šuma.
Uz njegovo se ime veže jedno od najmračnijih i najsurovijih razdoblja povijesti grada i zemlje u kojoj se nalazi. I imena nekih od 18.627 ubijenih građana Zagreba i ljudi iz njegove okolice.

Located on the southeastern slopes of Zagrebačka gora, northeast of Maksimirska šuma and not far from the tram interchange in Dubrava, the Dotrščina Memorial Park today is characterized by silence, disturbed only by the chirping of birds. It is an idyllic picture of one of Zagreb's most mass graves, i.e. one of the largest World War II execution sites in Croatia. To the curious visitor, only the monuments and sculptures scattered around the forest in apparent disarray will give some basic information about why they were built and what makes this park different from all the other parks in Zagreb.
It got its name from the small stream Dotrščina (Doktorščina) that descends from Medvednica and the hills of the same name, which were once the chapter house under an oak forest. The forest was cut down during the Second World War. Afterwards, a young, predominantly hornbeam forest grew.
His name is associated with one of the darkest and cruelest periods in the history of the city and the country where it is located. And the names of some of the 18,627 murdered citizens of Zagreb and people from its surroundings.
