Geocache Description:

The End of the Line for 3N06

Elevation 6076'

Located in Stockton Flats, there are a few options to The End of The Line 3N06. Recommended moderate clearance vehicles, not crazy high though. 4x4 is always nice to have especially after heavy rains. Honda Civic's may find it challenging. The line ends here but by foot this trail will take you to the east lower ridge to the famous Devil's Backbone at elevation 7814'. A stouty gate now blocks access up the mountain from off-roaders.

From I-15 take Lytle Creek Road to the shooting range where the pavement ends. It's 3 miles from here with the first 1.4 miles a bit on a rocky wash before finding a break on a dirt road. You'll cross North Fork Lytle Creek before meeting up with the final stretch into Stockton Flats.

There are two other options in from Lone Pine Canyon Road to the north. Take 3N29 (Sharpless Ranch Road) or 3N31 (Upper Lytle Creek Divide) both to 3N33 (Slade Canyon Road) both take you down to North Fork Lytle Creek to 3N06 into Stockton Flats.

There are many trails, offroad and hiking in Lytle Creek Canyon. Trails are tight in places and could experience offroad traffic on the weekends. Popular and yet least visited like Paiute Canyon and 4x4 only Coldwater Canyon, with many yellow post camp sites throughout the area. If you're camping, a California Campfire Permit is required and adhere to current forest orders and current conditions. Contact Front Country Ranger District.
