Memorial Park off Front Street in Newbiggin-by-the-Sea commemorate the dead of both World Wars. It was originally opened on the 8th November 1924, in remembrance of the First World War and later also dedicated to those lost in the Second World War. It has a stone Memorial Archway (Grade II listed) with bronze gates, upon which memorial wreaths are hung, on Remembrance Day. The park was restored in 2005 and re-opened by the Duke of Kent on the 15th of June 2005.

Congratulations to MurrellLooks4 on the FTF.

Newbiggin-by-the-Sea War Memorial Park is a significant landmark that commemorates those who served and died in World War I and World War II. The park features a stone Memorial Archway with bronze gates, where wreaths are traditionally placed on Remembrance Day. It also includes a dedication stone archway and boundary walls, all constructed by public subscription following a land donation. The park has been recognized as a Grade II listed structure by Historic England.

If anyone would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Just-Us-Two know first at justustwo1013@gmail.com so they can keep track of the memorial numbers and avoid any duplication.
