Welcome to the Chet Hobert Park (CHP)
Caching on the Fitness Trail (CFT)!
The park is open only from dawn to dusk. NO NIGHT CACHING!
Clarke County offers this multi-use park and the fairgrounds across the street to county residents and visitors, including geocachers. One of the amenities is a walking path that circles the park. Along the way you can enhance your caching/walking experience with stops at Fitness Stations that offer a broad variety of options for you to pursue.
The Suburban Cactus (Plantae Caryophyllales Cactaceae Pachycereus Suburbanum Metallicum), while not native to the area, is spreading, although sparsely, across the region. This is one of the more common versions, reaching approximately seven feet in height. Of particular interest is the lack of spines, almost as though it is encouraging human contact. This species is not considered a food or heating source and should be left in the field when discovered.
Permission for this cache has been given by Clarke County Parks and Recreation.
