Yesterday, Punxsutawney Phil made his prediction on what the rest of winter will bring. He also made a second proclaimation that everyone needs to eat ice cream for breakfast tomorrow, as its the first Saturday of February! We better listen to him and come together to have ice cream for breakfast then. We can discuss if we will have 6 more weeks of winter or an early spring, while chowing down on some ice cream.
In order to comply by this second proclaimation, I have reserved the Parcel Shelter in South Park to chow down on ice cream. We will meet at 9:30 AM. Because this is February and there is a really good chance we are going to be freezing our kesters off, I will have a fire going in the shelter as this shelter has a wood stove in it. The shelter is on a hill, so if there is snow on the ground and if you are feeling adventurous, bring a sled and have some fun. The little ones and some big ones might enjoy a little sledding action on hill. If there is no snow, there is a playground close by that the little ones will enjoy also. Dogs are allowed at the event as well, but they must stay on leashes the whole time. However, the shelter is right outside the off leash dog park, so you can take your dog off its leash if its inside the park. I do ask that if you do let your dog run free in the off leash park, that you stay with the dog in the park at all times. If they make a mess, please clean up after them.
I will be providing an ice cream cake to share with the group, but if you want to bring something else to share, please do so. Please note what you will be bringing in your will attend log. I will have plenty of plates, plastic ware, and firewood as well. Please use the provided parking coordinates.
