2230pm -2330pm on Sunday 31st December 2023
This is a New Years Eve Event being held by Ynysva at the 3rd Bodmin Scout Group Headquarters on the edge of Bodmin Nature Reserve (Bodmin Beacon). The event will start from 2230 and will consist of Teas/Coffees etc in the building, whilst also offering an oppurtunity for geocachers to bring their trackable collections allong and spread them out on a table for others to discover.
At 2345pm after the event has concluded, you may then wish to join the CO for an amble up to the Beacon Monument to Sir Walter Gilbert, an historic prominant military officer who lived in Bodmin, and see in the New Year by watching any fireworks being let off in the Bodmin area, which is easily visable from this vantage point. After this the CO will then take a track back down to the hall, where you are welcome to continue being socialble until such times as we feel it time to retire to home
(Effectivally this gathering goes from the start time through to the early hours of the morning, but Geocaching guidelines do not permit an event to move locations and hence the event wording has to reflect that)
Feel free to bring anything you want to bring along to eat or drink; will be be cooking hot-dogs and burgers on the evening with a small donation towards the scouts funds.
Toilets - The building has toilet facilities
Parking - Imediatley outside the building and adjacent on the access road.
Dogs - Dogs are fine to walk-up to the Beacon Monument with us, but are unfortunately not permitted inside the scout headquarters, there is however ample parking directly outside the building
Caches - Thiere is anAd-Lab-Cahe series in the area.
