The Jinx of the Gilgal Sphinx

This in a field puzzle set in
Salt Lake City's unique
Gilgal Sculpture Garden. The centerpiece of the park is a hybrid
Sphinx sculpture whose eyes will be watching you as you solve the puzzle.
The Garden is located at 749 East
500 South and as of this writing is open seven days a week: 8 AM to 8 PM
(April-September) and 9 AM to 5 PM (October-March). Leashed dogs are
allowed in the park.
The posted coordinates will
get you to the entrance and there is no fee to visit. The puzzle and the
final cache should be available in snowy conditions.
To solve the puzzle, locate the
sites within the park where the photos below were taken. See the
Additional Hints for numbers 1 and 7 if needed.
At each site, stand so that your
view matches the photo and determine which direction you are facing (the same
direction the camera was facing). Find that direction in the multiple
choices for each photo and make a note of the number following your choice.
The total of those numbers for
sites 1 through 5 will complete the North coordinate of the final cache and the total for 6 through
10 will complete the West.
Your GPS receiver or phone should
help with the direction, but may not be exact. As an aid, as you walk down
the entrance sidewalk toward the sculptures, you will be heading due north.
