This geocache is at the posted coordinates. This is a letterbox hybrid geocache, which means the stamp and ink pad inside needs to stay in the container; they are not trade items.
I hope you are enjoying your hike along the Water Tank Ridge. This letterbox is a nice easy hide with no extra puzzles or stages.
To reach this spot, take the 'water tank ridge' trail from the Upper City Creek trailhead and parking area (which is open year round) for just over 1 mile, round trip. The whole of Water Tank Ridge is 2.4 miles long with 1860 ft elevation change one way. The city creek trail network is closed to off road vehicles and motorbikes from November 15th - May 15th but when open, water tank ridge trail can be accessed by all terrain vehicles. Beware, it is a challenging route with steep rocky sections further up the trail and steep dirt sections that are impassable when wet that you will face getting here. Foot and pedal powered traffic is welcome year round. The early and late parts of November 15th and May 15th tend to be muddy and impassable. You can still make it by hiking to the side of the trail, which is permitted and causes minimal trail damage. When snowy, you might see people snow shoeing and XC skiing the trail network here. I wouldn't recommend this trail for XC skis but snow shoeing would be a blast. Even in the best of weather, I wouldn't bother cycling this trail unless you are comfortable riding on steep, loose, black diamond terrain
We have permission from parks and recreation to have this geocache here. Keep your head on a swivel, you might be startled by a cyclist coming along the gentle White Cairn trail.
