[DEU] Die im Jahr 1472 der Gottesmutter Maria geweihte Kirche von Oberolang wurde im spätgotischen Stil errichtet. Am Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts entstand das Christophorusfresko an der Westfassade. Es hat die beachtliche Höhe von acht Metern. Als in der Zeit um 1650 die Kirche im barocken Stil umgestaltet wurde, überdeckte man das Fresko mit einer Putzschicht, um eine einheitliche Außenwirkung der Kirche zu erreichen. Erst im Zuge einer Fassadenrestaurierung, wurde es 1997 entdeckt und 1998 wiederhergestellt.
[ITA] La chiesa di Valdaora di Sopra, consacrata nel 1472 alla Madre di Dio Maria, fu costruita in stile tardo gotico. Alla fine del XV secolo venne realizzato sulla facciata ovest l'affresco di San Cristoforo. Ha un'altezza notevole di otto metri. Quando la chiesa fu ridisegnata in stile barocco intorno al 1650, l'affresco fu ricoperto da uno strato di intonaco per ottenere un aspetto esterno uniforme della chiesa. Fu scoperta solo nel 1997 durante un restauro della facciata e restaurata nel 1998.
[ENG] The church of Oberolang, consecrated to the Mother of God Mary in 1472, was built in the late Gothic style. At the end of the 15th century, the St. Christopher fresco was created on the west facade. It has a remarkable height of eight meters. When the church was redesigned in the Baroque style around 1650, the fresco was covered with a layer of plaster in order to achieve a uniform external appearance of the church. It was only discovered in 1997 during a facade restoration and restored in 1998.
