I found a fun kid named Chat G to write these directions for me. These should be simple and easy to follow. It shouldn't take more than half an hour to find this letterbox unless you bring a kid or 2 with you, then it may take at least 3 hours to complete.
Hey there, super explorer! Wanna find the letterbox? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! First, head over to Laura's Place - you can't miss it, just look for the 7 big blue circles with her awesome name on them.
Now, sneak under those magical blue circles and through the gates. But oh, don't forget to close them tight behind you so the tiny muggles stay put. We don't want them on the loose, do we?
Once you're in the secret land, walk about 20 steps forward. Ta-da! On your left, there's this super cool music tree, all grayish green with little mallets hanging down. Grab a mallet and give those green leaves a good bong. Count 'em up, and hey, do it again for good measure. If you've got little pals with you, make sure they all get a turn, too!
Now, here comes the super cool part. Take the number of leaves and do a little math magic. Subtract 4, and guess what? You've got the magical letter A! How awesome is that?
Next, skip forward about 10 big steps, kinda curving left, until you spot this awesome blue flower. Grab a mallet, give each petal a bong, and count 'em all up. And if you see any muggles glued to their phones, do it a few more times, getting louder each go-around. Now add up the petals and the mallets, and guess what? You've got the magic letter B!
Now spin around, take about 20 mega steps, and bam! There's this giant grey tower with super fun blue slides. Wheee! Go down each slide and if it takes you all the way to the ground, count it up, that's your magical letter C. But, uh-oh, if you're a big grown-up and there are too many little muggles, either find a mini buddy to slide down for you or be extra careful not to bump into the little ones. They make a ton of noise, and big muggles don't like that!
Keep going in the same super awesome direction, and voila! A giant orange, yellow, green, and blue climbing thingy with a spider web rope in the middle. Be careful not to get rope burn as you climb through the spider web, and definitely don't knock any little muggles off. That annoying noise they make isn't fun. Run around the whole contraption and count the orange panels – that's your cool letter D.
Moving right along, we find a bunch of tall silver pipes. Grab another mallet, and bong away until the big muggles give you those funny looks. Count how many mallets are hanging on each pole (just count one of the poles, ignore the other one), and you've got E!
Almost there, buddy! Turn left or southeast and head toward this pretty blue thing with four big fabric triangles on top (triangles might be missing in the winter months), about 30 paces away. Find the panel on the opposite side from the braille clock and count the gears (or blue knobs). Now you've got F!
Now, find a cozy spot to sit, watch out for muggles, add all the numbers together A+B+C+D+E+F=26. If you got that right then put your numbers in this special code: N 39 12.ABC W 76 50.DEF. Don't forget to add a waypoint on the app, that is super important!
Okay, now we have the coordinates to where the geocache is hidden, but let me help you find the easiest way to the hiding place. First you gotta head back to where we started, look for those big blue dots. Carefully exit through the gates, no letting the muggles escape, and close 'em behind you. Take a left, pass the bathrooms, until the sidewalk turns into a dark grey trail, go a bit further until you get to a T, turn left again. Down a little hill until you get to another T, then go straight across into the grass and as far forward as you can go in the grass, and keep going into the taller grass and weeds.
Now, here's the really fun part - bushwhacking time! Pretend you're a wild explorer, go forward like 33 paces, aiming for a big tree leaning to the left. But don't get too close! Now, turn right, go diagonally about 40 paces (heading mostly west), maybe pass through a vine jungle, and you'll be close to your treasure. Look for a humongous boomerang-shaped chunk of dead tree sticking out from the ground. Go around the back, find the cache, open it up, and sign your geocaching name. If you collect stamps, stamp your book! I put a inkpad in there when I hid the treasure, but who knows how long it'll last. If you brought something to trade, go for it and trade away, but don't take my extra special cool stamp.
