Geocache Description:


Koorboora is a deserted town approximately 88km west of Mareeba and the cemetery is located approximately 100m off the main highway,(the Burke Development Road ) The township of Koorboora was established in 1889 to service nearby tin and wolfram mines. Up to 500 people lived here from 1884 until the town was abandoned in the late 1920s. There were 25 burials in the cemetery but only 5 headstones remain. Please visit with respect. Not suitable for Caravans. Bring tweezers and a Pen. PLEASE PLACE THE CONTAINER BACK AS YOU FOUND IT! AND REMEMBER- NO SIGNATURE- NO SMILEY!
