Park at the Shevlin Commons Trail Head and take the Discovery Trail south-east along Shevlin Park Road to the Geocache. Once you find the Geocache, look south behind the playground and you will see a connection to the Railroad Trail. In the 1930s, the railroad ran from the Brooks Scanlon logging camp (northwest of Shevlin Park) to the Brooks Scanlon Mill (now the Old Mill District). The Brooks-Scanlon lumbar company was formed in Minnesota in 1901. In 1915, the Bend lumbar production facility became one of the largest lumbar producers in the world.
