As many geocaches have probably figured out, I love geocaches in/around sports fields. So many good memories of playing/coaching on many of the fields in the SouthWest Metro.
So head to the posted coordinates, follow the directions and see if you can score this one.
Directions:
- Start at the posted coordinates.
- Follow the paved path south.
- Stop at the courts, but this is not a tennis/basketball cache.
- Keep going to the open field and look east!
- A baseball field in the distance! Go to home plate.
- Imagine you blasting one down the third base line.
- And then head to the woods on that line.
- Before entering the woods, think of Goose Gossage for a moment.
- Goose Gossage wore a lot of uniforms during his 22-year career, playing for nine teams over that span. But one thing never changed—the number on the back of his jersey, No. 54.
- Face east, and walk 54 paces. It should bring you close to the end of the treeline.
- Then 10-15 feet in, multi-branch beacon, 5 feet up.
Great job! Go get your Gatorade bottle!
