Splish, Splash, Splosh
What is it?
Come and relive your childhood seaside holidays. Time to have a look at what is living in the rockpools at Eastbourne. Bring your net and bucket and spend an hour or two wandering over the rocks. Can you complete our beach bingo card?
There will be an opportunity for a swim later in the afternoon - look out for details nearer the time.
When is it?
The Event will be on Tuesday 30th July 2024 from 12:30 to 14:30
Where is it?
Holywell, Eastbourne.
Information about the Area
Holywell is set at the foot of the South Downs, a stones throw from the iconic chalk cliffs of beachy head. This section of coastline boasts a popular café, beach huts and toilets. Unlike most beaches during the summer months that are prohibited for dogs, Holywell welcomes dogs all year round.
There is parking along the whole length of the seafront which is pay and display, if parking closest to Holywell the walk down to the beach can be a little steep, it follows a winding road down to the beach (no car access). Be aware that the nearer you park to this end of the seafront the steeper the walk to the beach is! Access from the western lawns is less of a slope but a slightly longer walk along the promanade.
The Dotto land stops here! The Dotto mini train runs along Eastbourne seafront from Holywell to Sovereign Harbour and is for everyone to enjoy. There is a small fee to ride the train and it has facilities to accommodate wheelchair users in the rear carriage, even geohounds can hitch a ride for free!
