Geocache Description:

USCA Quad is NOT a Zoo

The quad is a central hub for activity at the University of South Carolina Aiken with access to classroom buildings, the Student Activities Center, administrative offices, the Greg Graniteville Library, and the Etherredge Center. The center point of the quad is the Fountain. You may observe many activities in the quad beyond providing access to the various available facilities.

  1. Studying: Many students use the quad as an outdoor study space. They might bring their books, laptops, and notebooks to take advantage of the fresh air and natural light.

  2. Socializing: The quad is often a central hub for socializing. Students may gather in groups to chat, catch up between classes, or enjoy a meal together. Sometimes, you may find people who have the right chemistry that develops into a life-long relationship.

  3. Organizing Events: The university and student organizations often use the quad to promote events or host activities such as fundraisers, awareness campaigns, or performances.

  4. Relaxing: Some students use the quad as a place to relax and unwind. They might bring a blanket, lie down, and enjoy the surroundings.

  5. Attending Outdoor Classes or Lectures: Some professors or classes may take advantage of the outdoor space for special lectures, classes, or events.

  6. Listening to Music or Performing Arts: Musicians and performing artists might use the quad as a venue for impromptu performances or to practice their craft.

This is a multicache in the Quad of the USC Aiken Campus. For part of this geocache experience, you will need to gather information from the Gregg-Graniteville Library. Be sure to check on the library hours to be sure that you may gain access. There are three stages where you will find the names of people associated with the university. The first and last names of these people will be used to generate the "keyword" that you will enter into the checker, which will provide you with the final location of the container.

Keyword Part 1: Posted Coordinates
Near the posted coordinates, there is a plaque that commemorates a tree that was planted in honor of an individual. You will need the first and last name of this person. This is a shrubby tree and closest to the posted coordinates. Do not use the other tree planted in honor of someone else that is further away from the posted coordinates.

Keyword Part 2: N 33° 34.480' W 081° 46.066'
Locate the wall plaque for the Natatorium. Find the list of representatives. You will need the first and last name of the representative listed immediately above Representative Rudy Mason.

Keyword Part 3: N 33° 34.372' W 81° 46.059'
Locate the wall plaque for the Library. You will find it in the vestibule just inside of the outer doors. This library was made possible by a desire to promote the growth of knowledge through education, an ideal of this person. You will need the first and last name.

Keyword for Checker = Part 1 & Part 2 & Part 3

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
