Geocache Description:

11 December 2023, 09:00 - 10:00

The mountainous area of Colorado is six times the size of Switzerland and contains 9,600 miles of fishing streams, 2,850 lakes, and over 1,000 peaks that are at least two miles high.

Colorado contains 75% of the land area of the United States with an altitude over 10,000 feet.

Mountains supply 60% to 80% of the world's freshwater

Most scientists agree that the Barberton Greenstone Belt in South Africa is the oldest mountain range on Earth (3.6 billion years old), and it is said that it is possible to deduce the entire geological history of the Earth by examining these uprising mountains in this ancient sea floor area.

What is a person called who loves mountains?
Orophile. Mountain lovers, this is you. If you can't get enough of mountain climbing or you love the view of mountains, then you're an orophile.
